Application Instructions
Students should submit applications by 19 December 2025.
Applications will remain open throughout the year and late applications will be considered; however, students should be aware that they may not receive their preferred choices if a late application is received.
Once applications have been received, all applicants will be invited for an interview to discuss their application and ensure that their subject choices are suitable.

- The Nature of Law: Understanding the fundamental principles and concepts that underpin the legal system.
- Criminal Law: Examining offenses, defences, and the legal processes involved in criminal cases.
- Tort Law: Exploring civil wrongs and the legal remedies available to individuals harmed by the actions of others.
- Contract Law: Analysing the formation, performance, and enforcement of contracts, including key principles and case law.
- Human Rights: Investigating the legal framework surrounding human rights, including relevant legislation and case studies.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The course is 100% exam based. Exam papers will contain a mixture of question types including multiple choice, short answer and extended response questions.
Paper 1 - 2 hour written exam (100 marks total)
- The nature of law and the English legal system (25/100 marks)
- Criminal Law (75/100 marks)
Paper 2 - 2 hour written exam (100 marks total)
- The nature of law and the English legal system (25/10 marks)
- Tort (75/100 marks)
Paper 3 - 2 hour written exam (100 marks total)
- Law of contract (75/100 marks)
- The nature of law and the English legal system (25/100 marks)
OR
- Human rights (75/100 marks)
- The nature of law and the English legal system (25/100 marks)
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above, and for this specific subject;
a grade 6 in GCSE English Language.
