Course Summary
If you are looking to build a career in the travel and tourism industry, whether straight into work or through higher education, this course is for you.
Course Details
This busy course comprises a series of modules and units. These will help to develop your personal skills, learn about and understand the business principles behind the industry sectors, learn about working in specific parts of the industry and even acquire some specific and practical knowledge and experience.
Modules
The three following modules are mandatory:
- The UK travel and tourism industry
- Customer service in travel and tourism
- Preparing for a career in travel and tourism
You will also complete 9 additional units from the following:
- Travel and Tourism Destinations
- UK Visitor Attractions
- Hospitality in Travel and tourism
- Work Experience in Travel and Tourism
- UK Tour Operations
- Travel Agency Operations
- The UK Conferences and event industry
- Marketing for travel and tourism
- UK Passenger Transport Industry
- Resort Representative Roles and Responsibilities
- Investigating Airline Cabin Crew
- UK airports
- Worldwide Passenger Airlines
- The Cruise Industry
- UK heritage Tourist Attractions
- Responsible Tourism
- Specialist Tourism
- Business Travel
- Storytelling for Tourism
- Tour Guiding
You will also complete 60 mandatory hours of work experience within the tourism industry.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will be assessed internally by producing a portfolio of evidence for each unit studied. Assessment methods are varied and include, written reports, case studies, presentations, fact files, role-plays, or audio-visual evidence.
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 5 or more GCSEs at grade 4 or higher, including English and maths
Or:
- A relevant Level 2 qualification studied at CWA or another further education provider. This does not include level 2 courses studied at school alongside GCSEs.
- GCSEs in English and / or maths at grade 4 (C) or above
