Course Summary
Our A-Level in Chemistry will help you build on your previous scientific study to develop and apply skills and understanding in aspects of analytical, organic, inorganic and physical chemistry which are relevant to higher education, research and employment.

Course Details
What will I study?
- Development of practical skills in chemistry
- Foundations in chemistry
- Periodic table and energy
- Core organic chemistry
- Physical chemistry and transition elements
- Organic chemistry and analysis
- You will carry out laboratory practical tasks both in groups and as individuals
- You will have group discussions and will have independent research projects
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will complete 3 exams for this course and one non-exam assessment. The exams will range from 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Entry requirements
You will need:
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and, for this specific subject;
GCSE grade 6 or above in chemistry (6-5 in combined science)
- GCSE grade 6 or above in maths
