Course Summary

Physics examines the behaviour and properties of matter in a wide variety of contexts, ranging from sub-nuclear particles from which all ordinary matter is made, to the behaviour of the material universe as a whole. You will find out that electrons are waves and how they leap tall buildings in a single bound; but to do this you will need confidence with numbers, diagrams and theoretical models.

Physics is a challenging subject which teaches you how to solve problems using mathematics. It is a subject valued by many employers and is essential for career paths; for example motor sport engineering, computer games technology, biomedical sciences, architecture and engineering, to name just a few.

Entry requirements

You will need a grade 6 in physics, or combined science at GCSE and a grade 6 in mathematics.
