Course Summary
Engineering Operatives are predominantly involved in engineering operations which are key to the success of the Manufacturing and Engineering sector allowing employers to grow their business while developing a work force with the relevant skills and knowledge to enhance the sustain the sector.
Course Details
The role covers a wide range of common and job specific skills sets that can be transferred across the manufacturing engineering industry sectors during the course of their careers.
Dependent on the sector that you are employed in there may be subtle differences in terms of composition and application of the job role specific skills and knowledge they will require, however the core skills and knowledge will be the same regardless of the sector/area you work in.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
The end-point assessment has two distinct components:
Practical observation to assess your application of skills within your place of work or in a suitable environment away from the workplace (e.g. In an approved center)
Professional discussion to holistically assess knowledge, skills and behaviours across the standard and will be informed by reflective portfolio
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 4 GCSEs at grade 3 or above, to include maths and English
Or
- A level 1 engineering qualification with maths and English at level 1
