Course Summary
This course is designed for young people like you who might find a mainstream environment challenging but are keen to advance in education. It is a specialised provision tailored for young people with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties. You will be in the right environment to develop your confidence and self-esteem.
Course Details
This course is perfect if you want to explore a wide range of artistic techniques while developing confidence in your own visual style. Through practical workshops, project-based learning and experimentation with materials, you'll develop skills in drawing, painting, 2D and 3D design, digital art, and mixed media.
You'll learn how to research artists and designers, generate ideas, plan and refine your work, and present a portfolio that showcases your work.
Class sizes are small and support is available both in and outside of sessions, as appropriate.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. You will be assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units. The online PDP system allows you to log in and view your progress and targets so you are always aware of your individual achievement to date. Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you are required to show willingness to learn, participate in class and develop your skills.
