Our new, full-time, level 2 technical certificate in agriculture is a great option if you're considering a career in farming, crops or land.
Course Details
What will I do on this course?
On this course, you'll work on the following units:
- Health and Safety for Land-Based Industries
- Agricultural Power Units and Machinery Operation
- Crop Husbandry
- Farm Animal Production
- Farm Estate Maintenance
- Physiology of Plants and Animals
- Working in the Agriculture Industry
Throughout the course, you'll build a foundation in farm life; from understanding how plants and animal function, growing crops and maintaining an estate. You'll develop the skills that real agricultural work demands and then be able to put it all into action through actual work experience (a minimum of 150 hours).
How will it be delivered and assessed?
To gain this qualification, you must complete two exams under exam conditions and assignments to demonstrate your understanding of each unit
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 4 GCSEs at grade 3 and above, including English and Maths or;
- a relevant level 1 qualification at CWA (e.g. Animal Care or Horse Care) with good progress in English and Maths, preferably working towards level 2 functional skills or GCSEs alongside your main course
