Course Summary
This course has been designed to introduce you into the world of work. The program is set up in a way that gives you a great chance to grow the skills you'll need for employment. It's designed to be a supportive space where you can develop the abilities that will help you succeed in your future work place.
Course Details
You'll have the chance to research, prepare, and take part in work experience within your local community. The program is designed to integrate crucial life skills, ensuring your independence skills develop and grow. Additionally, it provides opportunities to enhance your maths and English skills at a level that suits you best.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Assessment is ongoing and consistent throughout the academic year, this is evident via an initial screening process and then regularly via the Personal Development Plan. You will be assessed on an individual basis by the tutor and through the verification of completed portfolio units.
The online PDP system allows for you to log in and view your progress and targets so you are always aware of your achievement to date.
Three progress reviews and regular staff meetings ensure that the assessment and review process continues to map individual progression.

Whilst there are no formal entry requirements, you are required to show a willingness to learn, participate in and develop skills in a college environment.
Following an interview it is expected that you will attend a taster session to determine suitability for the course and to ensure that your needs are met.
