If you are interested in working as a chef in the catering and hospitality sector, then this course is for you.
Course Details
Qualified skilled staff are more likely to gain employment and this qualification represents an introduction to the industry. It is a busy and practical course with real working experience in the restaurant and kitchens.
Whilst working towards this certificate you will be able to develop skills in many areas including:
* Food safety
* Health and safety in catering
* Healthier foods
* Costs and menu planning
* Preparing and cooking different foods
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There will be a combination of practical demonstrations and exams and multiple choice tests
Entry requirements
Whilst there are no general grade entry requirements for our level 1 programmes, you will be expected to show:
- A good attitude towards learning and a willingness to progress, including in English and maths (if applicable)
- A keen interest in the subject and a commitment to working hard
You will be invited to an information session and applicant experience day (if you have been offered a place before May) before you start your course to help ensure this is the best course for you.
