Course Summary
This course has been designed working with Anglian Water's five alliances with the specific aim of enabling you to work for one of the Alliance companies.
Course Details
The majority of Level 2 study will be held at the Wisbech campus, delivered by college tutors through practical and theory based sessions. In addition to this, industry specialists from the Alliances will contribute to the learning programme.
An important element of the course is the work placement component, which will be with one or more of the Alliance's partner companies, where you will gain valuable work experience.
The course content consists of the units below:
Health, Safety and Welfare in Construction
Principles of Building Construction Information and Communication
Construction Site Protection Barriers
Lay Domestic Drainage
Construct Foundations, Slabs and Paths in Concrete
Anglian Water's five alliances have been created to deliver investment worth up to £9 billion of work over 15 years. Working together they will deliver every kind of investment ranging from building large new water treatment works, to repairing small leaks and connecting new properties to the network.
On successful completion of Level 2, suitable candidates with English and Maths at grade 4 or above will be guaranteed an interview with one of the Anglian Water's Alliance partners to join their apprenticeship programme.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Progress and achievement is recorded throughout the year via practical assessments, and an online exam.
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 4 GCSEs at 3 or above including English and maths
You will be invited to an information session to help ensure the course is right for you.
