A LEVEL AND LEVEL 3 QUALIFICATIONS
To gain a place on this course students will ideally have at least grade 4 in both English Language and Mathematics and at least three other GCSEs, or equivalent Level 2 qualifications, at grade 5 or above. Some subjects also have additional entry requirements.
All students are to choose 3 subjects from 3 different blocks. Further Mathematics may be taken as a fourth choice.
LEVEL 2 QUALIFICATIONS
Subjects have individual entry requirements.
Students only need to apply for either Bricklaying or Hairdressing.

A Level Chemistry A: Course Overview
Chemistry A is split into six modules combined with the Practical Endorsement, constitutes the full A Level. The modules can be summarised as:
Module 1: Development of Practical Skills
Module 2: Foundations in Chemistry
Module 3: Periodic Table & Transition Metals
Module 4: Core Organic Chemistry
Module 5: Physical Chemistry & Transition Metals
Module 6: Organic Chemistry & Analysis
How will it be delivered and assessed?
Module1: Development of Practical Skills
This module underpins the whole of the specification, and covers the practical skills that students should develop throughout the course. The practical skills in this module can be assessed within written examinations and within the Practical Endorsement.
Module 2: Foundations in Chemistry
This module covers the fundamental concepts required throughout the remaining modules.
Module 3: The Periodic Table & Energy
Module 4: Core Organic Chemistry
Module 5: Physical Chemistry & Transition Elements
Module 6: Organic Chemistry & Analysis
ASSESSMENT at A Level:
A Level Paper 1 (37%) assesses the content from Modules 1,2,3 and 5
A Level Paper 2 (37%) assesses the content from Modules 1,2,4 and 6
A Level Paper 3 (26%) assesses the contact from Modules 1 to 6
