Course Summary
This course is for you if you are looking to start your career in the beauty industry or if you already have some experience. It will cover all the essential skills and information needed to work in the industry or pursue further education.
Course Details
During this course, you will learn all the fundamentals and important skills needed for a successful career in the beauty industry. You will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience in our specialist salons in our King's Lynn and Wisbech campuses!
You will cover the following subjects:
- Anatomy and physiology
- Working in the industry
- Health and safety
- Client care
- Facials
- Manicures and pedicures
- Makeup
- Eye treatments
- Head massage
- Reception
- Spray tanning
How will it be delivered and assessed?
There are four types of assessment:
Demonstration of practical competence
Short assignments
Oral questioning
Online tests
A portfolio of work is built up during the time spent at college.
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 4 GCSEs at Grade 3 or higher, including English and maths
Or:
- A level 1 qualification in Hair & Beauty at Merit or Distinction standard studied at CWA or another further education provider
- English and maths GCSEs at grade 3 or higher
