Course Summary
Our A-Level in Economics helps you to develop your knowledge and understanding of how to analyse, interpret and evaluate subject information.
On our A-Level programme, you will study three or four subjects. Please apply for three or four subjects and use our course selector here to check what options you can do!

What will I study?
You will study:
- Introduction to microeconomics
- The role of markets
- Business objectives
- Market Structures
- The labour market
- Aggregate demand and aggregate supply
- Economic policy objectives
- Implementing policy
- The global context
- The financial sector
How will it be delivered and assessed?
You will follow a programme which combines class teaching with small group work, discussion, video material, IT and research projects. Homework will be regularly set to aid learning and develop self-study skills. Students will complete three examinations, duration will be 2 hours for each examination.
Entry requirements
You will need:
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and, for this specific subject;
GCSE grade 6 or above in maths
- GCSE grade 5 or above in English language
