Our new alternative academic qualification in data analytics will give you advanced skills in big data and machine learning while mastering real-world tools.

Course Details
This qualification has been developed by Pearson in consultation with universities and sector experts to ensure that you'll gain the knowledge and skills required to progress into higher education.
What will I cover on this course:
Youll complete three compulsory units that build a strong foundation in data analytics and related IT skills:
- Fundamentals of data analytics; Learn how to gather, clean, process and analyse data, explore ethical issues around data use, and apply statistical methods to real datasets.
- Big data and machine learning; Understand the concepts of big data, data storage solutions and basic machine-learning techniques for pattern recognition and prediction.
- Spreadsheet data modelling; Use advanced spreadsheet functions to design and test data models, create dashboards and present findings clearly.
You will also work towards two optional units which we'll choose ahead of your induction, which could be around databases, data visualisation or more.
Entry requirements
You will need:
- 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English, Maths & Science
