If you are interested in sport but want to delve deeper into the scientific and sociological aspects of sport, then this course offers you that opportunity.

Course Details

The course focuses on physiological and psychological factors, and socio-cultural, historical and biomechanical effects, and seeks to establish how much impact they have on improving and then optimising sports performance.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

70% of the course is examined, 15% is assessed in either practical performance or coaching and 15% is written coursework. Units covered in the course include applied anatomy and physiology, skill acquisition and sport and society.

Grade 6+/6+ in GCSE combined science or any two grade 6+ in triple science

If physical education studied at GCSE grade 5+
