Course Summary
This programme is for those who are currently working or looking to progress in the construction industry and wish to study for a standard that is recognised by the industry. The course covers the knowledge and skills relating to bricklaying and allied skills.
This role involves laying bricks, blocks and other types of building components in mortar to construct and repair walls, foundations, partitions, arches and other structures.
The Bricklaying at Level 2 has been developed based on learner and employer needs and has been designed by employers for learners wishing to gain an Apprenticeship in construction.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
End-Point Assessment (EPA) is made up of a number of assessment elements which an apprentice must pass in order to successfully complete their apprenticeship. The EPA may include:
• Knowledge test
• Practical assessment with questions
• Interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
As with all our programmes, this Apprenticeship includes tutorial sessions and individual reviews, giving you one-to-one time with your personal assessor.
We want you to achieve to the very best of your ability at CRC. To support you we offer both learning and personal support by specialist staff tailored to meet your specific needs. You can also access support at any time throughout your Apprenticeship through our support Hubs online and on campus. To find out more, visit our student support pages.
Entry requirements
English and maths GCSEs at a minimum of grade 3 (D) or equivalent.
The employer may have additional criteria that will have to be met.
Your next steps...
The Bricklayer is designed to provide you with the required skills to undertake the role. Once you have completed this programme you may have the opportunity to progress onto further development or take on additional responsibilities with your Employer.
