Fixtures are played in many fantastic venues and arenas such first team training grounds and non-league grounds. The leagues are exclusively for development teams from Premier League and Football League clubs with similar programmes looking to bridge the gap with academy football. Fixtures take place on Wednesday’s with home games played at the Idverde Training Ground, Peterborough United’s first team training ground.
TRAINING - Players will train a minimum of three times a week focusing on technical and tactical aspects to develop the individuals within the team as well as preparing for fixtures. Training will also take place at the Idverde Training Ground led by full-time UEFA qualified coaches using a syllabus that mirrors the Academy.
PERFORMANCE & MATCH ANALYSIS - All home fixtures are recorded via VEO. Players will gain access to the footage using HUDL software to analyse their performances each week. Players have unlimited access to HUDL during their weekly schedule where they will be able to watch back each fixture with comments for development from the coaches. HUDL can also be used to create highlight reels for any players looking to play abroad.
STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING - Through the partnership with Nene Park Academy, players will have access to their gym and each player is provided with a personal development plan which enables them to develop physically and maximise performance. Development Plans are created by Peterborough United’s Academy Sports Scientist.
NUTRITION - Players will receive workshops on pre and post exercise nutrition to allow them to prepare and recover from training and games in the best possible way.
EDUCATION OVERVIEW - Players will study at Nene Park Academy and the academic programme allows players to develop the essential skills, knowledge and qualifications required to progress into a career in sport and leisure, either directly, or through higher education.
