Students should submit applications by 19 December 2025.
Applications will remain open throughout the year and late applications will be considered; however, students should be aware that they may not receive their preferred choices if a late application is received.
Once applications have been received, all applicants will be invited for an interview to discuss their application and ensure that their subject choices are suitable.

Course Summary
The Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care covers equality, diversity and rights, health and safety, anatomy and physiology, person-centred approaches, mental health, long-term physiological conditions, public health strategies, sexual health and nutrition and lifestyles.
Course Details
This qualification has 4 mandatory units and 2 optional units.
Mandatory units
- Principles of health and social care
- Anatomy and physiology for health and social care
- Person-centred approach to care
- Supporting people with mental health conditions
Optional units (2 will be chosen)
- Supporting people with long term physiological conditions
- Investigating public health
- Supporting people in relation to sexual health, pregnancy and postnatal health
- Supporting healthy nutrition and lifestyles
How will it be delivered and assessed?
For this qualification, students must complete six units:
- Two mandatory externally assessed units
- Two mandatory NEA units
- Two optional NEA unit
Entry requirements
5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths.
