Course Summary

The C&G Employment Programme plus aligns with current education and the skills for the local labour market. Through a carefully sequenced one year study programme learners develop essential personal, functional and employability skills that enable increase in resilience, self-esteem and independence.

The programme provides a structured, supportive and employment focused curriculum that prioritises external work experience as the central mechanism for learning. Learners spend the majority of their time in sustained, carefully matched work placements that reflect their individual strengths, needs, and aspirations. These real‑world experiences enable learners to develop the independence, resilience, communication skills, and workplace behaviours essential for successful progression into employment, supported internships, or further vocational training.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

The course will be delivered in a variety of ways, with accredited and non-accredited components, personalised planning, Digital, personal and social development, and English and Maths. Assessment is primarily through portfolio, work logs and RARPA (Recognising and Recording Progress and Achievements), with a strong emphasis on wellbeing, independence and ongoing tailored support

All units assessed via a range of methods such as assessment workbooks, worksheets and observations.

Entry requirements

The programme is designed for learners with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities who require a structured, nurturing environment to overcome barriers and develop skills for progression. A work experience pathway for learners with an EHCP.

This qualification aims to help the learner to understand the skills required of them for the journey into employment. Learners are encouraged to take increased responsibility for their learning, develop work related behaviours and enhance their readiness for further education, training, supported internships or employment. Learners will be offered opportunities to engage in work experience, providing meaningful real-world contexts that reflect the local labour market needs. This progression focused approach supports learners to make informed choices about their future and develop the skills necessary for successful independent living and sustained participation in education or employment
