Course Summary

In studying this course, you will gain an understanding of the psychology sector, learning different psychological approaches, research methods and how psychology is applied to everyday situations.

Course Details

What will I study?

Over the next two years, you'll delve into various stimulating topics within psychology including:

  • Developing essential knowledge and an understanding of different psychological approaches
  • Learning about significant pieces of research which covers a variety of perspectives and topics
  • Applying psychological information to everyday situations
  • Exploring how psychological data is collected with opportunities to conduct your own research
  • Develop an appreciation of how society makes decisions about psychological issues and how
    psychology contributes to the economy and wider society.

How will it be delivered and assessed?

You will complete 4 exams for this course. You will complete 2 in your first year which will be 1.5 hours each. You will complete 2 in your second year which range from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours each.

Entry requirements

You will need:

  • 5 GCSEs at grade 4 or above including English and maths and, for this specific subject;
  • GCSE grade 5 or above in English language AND in science OR maths
