Course Summary
This course is creative and thought provoking. It is designed to inspire and challenge students to develop their design and practical skills to produce creative, innovative and successful product outcomes.
Course Details
You will complete 2 components over the 2 year course.
Component 1 - Personal investigation: 60% of final grade. This component allows students opportunities to generate and develop ideas, research primary and contextual sources, record practical and written observations, experiment with media and processes, and refine ideas towards producing a personal resolved outcome(s). The personal investigation is supported by written material consisting of 1000-3000 words of continuous prose.
Component 2 - Externally Set Assignment: 40% of final grade. This component allows students opportunities to generate and develop ideas, research primary and contextual sources, record practical and written observations, experiment with media and processes, and refine ideas towards producing a personal resolved practical outcome(s) in response to an externally set theme. The final outcome for this component is completed in 15 hours of unaided supervised time.
How will it be delivered and assessed?
100% Coursework with a 15 hour period of sustained focus under exam conditions.
