Course Summary
The qualification is one full A Level, and aims to provide an overview of the language, heritage, film, and commonly-discussed topics in French and French-speaking cultures.
This is a wide-ranging course, covering history, cultural heritage, film, food, art, music and much more, and you can tailor it to your interests. You will study new information from new perspectives, such as looking at art, racism and violence in the banlieues in 1980s Paris through the film La Haine, but also studying the technical aspects of what makes it a good film. The course gives students a thorough grounding in grammar and vocabulary, and also builds on research skills, with the Individual Research Project (IRP) in the A2 speaking exam reflecting the HPQ qualification in KS4.
