||Beauty Therapy Combined Technical Level 2 and 3
||GCE A/AS Level or Equivalent
This course provides learners with the knowledge and skills that will prepare you for either employment or higher education. Students will gain both practical and theoretical knowledge which will promote opportunities for careers in the hair and beauty sector. Following this course will enable you to explore your creative ability using styling and colouring techniques and improve your communication, teamwork and customer service skills.
This qualification will give you the required theoretical and practical knowledge in Beauty Therapy.
There are two parts to this course. In year 1 you will complete beauty therapy and in year 2 you will have the option of level 3 massage, level 3 nail technology or Level 3 beauty therapy make-up.

How will it be delivered?
As a requirement of studying hair or beauty courses it is mandatory to attend the salon late night session to achieve all practical elements and ensure preparation for the end synoptic practical exam.
Assessment will take place through consultation when you and your assessor agree that you have reached the competence to successfully achieve assessment.
Assessment is ongoing through the course to produce a service portfolio, each unit will have a graded practical assessment and a graded synoptic assessment.
The theory aspect of the course is external examinations, assignments and professional discussion.

Your next steps...
Whilst the primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners for employment, they may choose to develop their knowledge and skills further by completing a specialist qualification at Level Four.
Learners who achieve this qualification could progress directly into employment in a variety of contexts, which include commercial salons and day spas, independent work in a self-employed setting or mobile worker. Other settings would be in film, television, theatre and media, or cruise ships.
