Overview

Effective use of web, digital and social media is now an established marketing tool that could help businesses thrive. This Apprenticeship enables you to learn the theory as well as develop and practise the skills required in a digital marketing profession.   It is designed to prepare you for permanent employment and career progression within the marketing industry. The standard will help you understand the impact of digital marketing tools and social media on business and help you to use a range of techniques and tools in marketing campaigns to good effect.

How will it be delivered?

These qualifications are delivered completely in the workplace through regular assessor visits. Learners will be assessed in the workplace using a variety of methods including short answer exams, reports and practicals.

The end point assessment is completed in the last few months of the apprenticeship and is externally assessed. It is based on:

• a portfolio containing evidence from real work projects which have been completed during the apprenticeship to cover the totality of the standard
• a project - giving the apprentice the opportunity to undertake a business-related project over a one-week period away from the day to day workplace,
• an employer reference,
• a structured interview with an assessor exploring what has been produced in the portfolio and the project

Entry requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but the candidate must be in a job role that supports the completion of the framework. Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include five GCSEs, (especially English, Mathematics and a Science or Technology subject); a relevant Level 2 Apprenticeship; other relevant qualifications and experience; or an aptitude test with a focus on IT skills. Fully-funded for 16-18 year olds (no fees); fully-funded for 19-23 years olds employed in a company with 1-249 employees; otherwise partially-funded (employer fees apply).

This apprenticeship takes 18 months to complete and has a flexible start date. There is no upper age limit for apprenticeships making it a course ideal for both those looking to start a career in a particular sector or those who are already employed and looking to get qualifications that recognise their experience and gives them opportunity to progress further in their career.

Digital Marketing Assistant, Digital Marketing Executive, Digital Marketing Co-ordinator, Campaign Executive, Social Media Executive, Content Co-ordinator, Email Marketing Assistant, SEO Executive, Analytics Executive, Digital Marketing Technologist  Depending on job role, the learner may consider progressing onto a higher level management qualification on completion.
