What will you be working towards?
This Apprenticeship Standard is designed for engineers who are maintaining the safety, integrity and effective operation of plant and equipment in industries that are part of the national infrastructure engineering sector, such as electricity generating, oil and gas refining and pharmaceuticals.
It provides a basic grounding in engineering before focussing on the skills, knowledge and behaviours required to work successfully as an engineer in mechanical and/or electrical maintenance.
How will it be delivered?

During this time, they will be visited in the workplace every 8 to 10 weeks where they will be guided through the work-based side of their programme. The final 6 months are focussed on preparing the apprentice for End-Point Assessment which will determine the final outcome of the Apprenticeship. This includes theory and practical tests.
Suitable employment. GCSE Grade 4 or above in English and Mathematics and 1 other subject or the equivalent.
