The Sport and Leisure industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, fed by an expansion of people�s leisure time and spending. In the UK, Sport and Leisure accounts for nearly 30% of total consumer spending. This qualification gives you the opportunity to gain insight into this exciting and developing industry and gives you a broad basis of study for the sport sector.
You will study a variety of units including;
� Anatomy & Physiology
� Fitness Training & Programming for Health, Sport & Well-Being
� Professional Development in the Sports Industry
� Sport Injury Management
� Sports Leadership
How will it be delivered?
There is a combination of external assessment-written exams and tasks, and internal assessment of coursework by teaching staff.
Standard (5 GCES or equivalent subjects at a grade 4 minimum including Maths and English)
Your next steps...
After successfully completing your BTEC studies a wide variety of options become available to you at University, Apprenticeship and Employment level. Students have gone on to University to study Physiotherapy, Sport and Exercise Science, Occupational Therapy, Sports and Business Management, Sports Coaching, Sports Journalism, PE teaching, to name a few, after completing their BTEC in Physical Education.
The content covered and skills learnt also open up opportunities to complete sports apprenticeships and employment in areas such as, the Armed Forces, Multi-Sports coaches, Education and Sport Coaching, Sports and Fitness, Exercise and Fitness.
The course also develops the soft employability skills of communication, effective social skills, physical fitness, analysis and evaluation.
