Overview

Our A-Level in Physics will help build on your previous science study, with problem solving, experimentation and interpreting data.

Details

Your study will involve a combination of practical exercises and theory, and will be taught in a well-equipped laboratory by our industry-trained staff.

You will study:

  • Charge and current
  • Forces in action
  • Waves and photos
  • Medical imaging and electromagnetism
  • Nuclear and particle physics

How will it be delivered?

The course will be assessed by two 2.15 hours examinations, one 1.30 hour examination and a practical assessment varied with formal lessons and practical work supported by discussions, video, ICT and Physics workshops. Year 1 - Module 1: Development of Practical Skills in Physics - Module 2: Foundations of Physics - Module 3: Forces and Motion - Module 4: Electrons, Waves and Photons Year 2 - Module 5: Newtonian World and Astrophysics - Module 6: Particles and Medical Physics

Entry requirements

You will need: GCSE grade 4 (C) and above in English Grade 6 (B) or above in Science (Physics or double) and Maths At least two other subjects at grade 5 (B) or above
