Overview

Developing your skills in creativity, imagination and both written and verbal communication, this one-year qualification enables you to extend your range of GCSE qualifications.

You will read and respond to written texts from different periods, comparing the works in pairs, small groups and class discussions. Your lessons will be interesting and varied and will include independent work, use of IT, creating displays, writing, question and answer sessions and watching and discussing videos.

Working as part of a cohesive group, receiving tutorial support and study skills assistance from our specialist staff, you will build the foundations to enable you to be successful on a Level 3 study programme. This course is for students who have not yet achieved Grade 4 in English at GCSE and wish or need to improve their grade either for employment purposes or to move on to a Level 3 programme.
